Rescue
Elvis & Kresse have been reclaiming heroic materials ever since they fell in love with London Fire Brigade's decommissioned fire-hose. After a distinguished career fighting fires and saving lives the hoses were destined for landfill. They started rescuing it in 2005 and have never looked back.
More materials soon followed, Kresse has always had an obsession with waste and likes nothing better than discovering and intercepting something new. The challenge is the same every time - what can they do to prove value, change perception, and respect these resources.
Transform
For Elvis & Kresse, design begins with a problem. The material and scale of the problem dictate what they make and how. After cleaning 25 years of soot and grease from fire-hoses, they discovered a remarkable, green textile. They honor this material with quality craftsmanship and timeless design, creating hand-made, unique products for use beyond single seasons.
Transforming old fire-hoses into desirable items is crucial. Elvis spent five years perfecting a billfold wallet, ensuring malleability, strength, and classic styling. This dedication extends to all their work, from material collection to packaging.
Their process, like kintsugi, cherishes materials, making refurbished pieces more valuable. Elvis & Kresse create honest, practical pieces, re-engineering tradition.
Donate
Elvis & Kresse donates 50% of profits to charities related to the unique materials we rescue, on a range by range basis. 50% of the profits from our Fire-hose Collection are donated to the Fire Fighters Charity. 50% of the profits from our rescued leather, such as our Fire & Hide Collection, go to Barefoot College.
